From the Island of Oahu

The Hawaiians call Oahu "The Gathering Place." In that tradition volunteers from all our islands came to our annual Volunteer Recognition Conference on 15 May.  Here is group picture from the event. Some are a little more frail. Some are using a cane this year too.  But all are still active and beloved members. Mahalo to all our volunteers, without whom our important program would not exist.

From the Island of Maui and the Maui Caregivers Conference

We all know the work of our Senior Medicare Patrol Volunteers is important.  But did you also know that it's enjoyable and can be fun too? Volunteers Louise Corpuz and Eugenia Frerichs participated Maui Caregivers Conference this past Friday, 14 November.

Eugenia said  "The conference went great. We had a perfect location on the corner right outside the lecture room. From our vantage point it was well attended. The staff of both the hotel and those provided by Maui County Department on Aging were very well organized. Louise and I had a good time."

Thanks to Louise, Eugenia and all our volunteers across the islands for the work they do.
